On the banks of the Vltava River, Vietnamese and Chinese communities abound, as locals are fond of their food. Chefs Nyoman Purnata and Lee Chang know a thing or two about this: they are both well-known figures on the Asian food scene in Czech Republic, and have now partnered to start QQ Asian Kitchen, near the Botanical Garden. The interior is sober and inviting, with a wide use of wood and colourful steel chairs.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, the menu – changing every month – presents creative dishes from all over Asia, as a mix of street food and gourmet recipes. For heightened pleasure, the tasting menu will charm adepts and newcomers alike. You may be able to taste the sautéed beef in pepper sauce and snap beans, the pork wok served with bamboo shoots, or the fried salmon teriyaki for instance. Influences may be plural, but the two chefs use local, organic and high-quality ingredients as much as possible. These delicate dishes will leave a lasting impression.
